Contributing to the future of resilient pipe infrastructure through KRV

Kunststoffrohrverband e.V. (KRV),in English German Plastic Pipe Association, plays a key role in advancing the German pipe industry, bringing together pipe manufacturers and raw material suppliers to promote quality standards, support effective regulatory frameworks and drive innovation in water, energy and infrastructure applications.

As a company committed to helping shape the future of resilient infrastructure, we are strengthening our engagement in KRV through the appointment of our colleague Benjamin Alkanli, Senior Sales Manager Infrastructure, to the association's Board.

The appointment comes at a significant time for Borouge International. Formed through the combination of Borealis, Borouge and NOVA Chemicals, Borouge International brings together global scale, leading technologies and deep application expertise. In 2027, we will celebrate 60 years of leadership in the polyolefin pipe industry, reflecting six decades of collaboration and innovation alongside customers and partners across the value chain.

Europe is facing growing challenges related to water management, energy security and infrastructure modernization. Addressing these priorities requires strong collaboration across the value chain. Through our engagement in KRV, we contribute to industry-wide discussions on sustainable infrastructure, evolving regulatory requirements and the long-term competitiveness of European pipe systems.

For our customers, developers, installers and other industry partners, this engagement supports the development of future-ready pipe solutions that help deliver safe drinking water, reliable energy networks and durable infrastructure. It also enables valuable dialogue on market needs, innovation and the regulatory developments shaping the industry's future.

"The pipe industry is facing real questions right now, from ensuring drinking water safety under the new EU Drinking Water Directive to strengthening certification standards for materials entering the European market. KRV is exactly the right platform to address these challenges together across the value chain," says Benjamin Alkanli. "Collaboration between raw material suppliers, pipe manufacturers and other stakeholders is essential to maintaining high standards, fostering innovation and supporting resilient infrastructure for the future."

Our involvement in KRV reflects our commitment to supporting the long-term success of the pipe industry, not only as a material supplier but also as an active contributor to industry dialogue and progress. Backed by six decades of experience in advanced polyethylene and polypropylene pipe materials, we help enable life's essentials by supporting the safe and reliable transport of water, energy and other vital resources. We continue to work closely with customers and industry stakeholders to help develop infrastructure solutions that safely and reliably transport water, gas, heating media and industrial fluids for communities around the world.

By working together across the value chain, we help foster innovation, promote high standards and support the resilient infrastructure systems that society depends on every day.
